Simon Tessier (Pixel Gasoline) updates. Remember him from the 35-sexiest websites pt. 1? yep, that's almost two years ago now :)

New Ezra. Big update at Jonathan Moore's portfolio.

The Portfolio is fresh.

Pearls Before Breakfast

I'm living in the worst place on earth, apparently. The video in question. Man, we've got some wicked good P.R. here in Windsor.

Welcome to PhilRenaud.com version 2.0! It's still got a heck of a lot of kinks to work out of the system, as I'm sure you'll be sure to notice (and hopefully kindly report), but it's got some much needed updates, as well. Most notably: the style switcher allows for improved user interaction, and from the discussions I've had with a good number of visitors here, I think you'll find some good uses for it.

Some of you are going to love the new aesthetics, and some of you are certainly going to hate it, but I hope that in either case you understand that this is a new direction I wanted to take the site in - and besides, who doesn't agree that it's better off without that wicked inner-glow?

So - what do you think?

Thanks for the site critique: Don, Montoya, Karen Thistle, Meg, Sean, Jenn, Andrew Faulkner, babs, Elme, Nathan, David.

Thanks for the comments: Karen, Shirazi.

Overall, the new look is top notch. I think you need to revisit the styles for both the comments and the comments area. There is way too much space (FF2/WinXP) between each item. The comment form also seems abnormally spaced compared to everything else.

One other small thing, you might want to increase the kerning between the r and the i in riot industries. I thought it said NOT industries. :)

I'm digging the new nice white layout.

Aww, the sifr stuff stays white in FF 1.5.0.7 on linux :(
Damn you transparent flash! <tests in Konqueror>
Konqueror and FF 2.0 seem to not have the flash plugin... I will have to putz with them to get the Linux Flash 9 plugin working again for them I guess.
Will test again after I do that.

Very nice Phil. I'll have to get used to how huge it is now, but I'm sure I'll get over myself.

How huge it is now...innnuuennndooooo

Okay, the flash works fine in Safari too. This is what happens when I get bored at work and start testing your site in different OSes/browsers.

...one mouse button is terrible.

Okay, FF2.0 flash is functional, but nogo on the transparent flash, bg is white still.
Still no flash in Konqueror, though flash works in konqueror on other sites.

Third time's a charm. There's a character that sits right at the top edge and it's hard to figure out! Anyway, glad I copied my comment previously.

___ Pasted ___

Ugh! I hate those numbers down below. I wrote a very long comment and hitting the back button erased everything. Oh well. Here's the compressed version:

1. New design is visually-impaired friendly
2. No more glowing edges. Yay!
3. Colors... too girly. Cute!

My 2 cents... Looks great! I was a bit surprised at the choice of colours baby blue and pink... On the white it looks a bit girly, but on the black it is so different! Did you design it more with the black in mind?? My personal fave is the white scheme. I like the sidebar. The only thing I don't like so much is the comment boxes, they are a bit confusing at first... Because they all seem to blend in when it's a long comment... But I figured them out now! :P Nice change... Nice work... Congrats!

Dude, I like it. Lots. Wd! :)

Favourite parts? The tagline, the falling x's (really catches the eye without being to busy) and the links to your other sites.

Congrats on the blog-award as well! :D

I was wondering, which background do you prefer?

Elme: definitely the black bg. Not sure if I'm going to start making it the default background or not, but I"m thinking about it.
